Weight Loss
'After breaking my leg earlier in the year, and the subsequent immobility, weight was piling on (I'm not saying how much!), so seeing Paul Adkins' advertisement for Acupuncture for weight loss I decided to give it a go.
The 3 sessions were thoroughly pleasant experiences and tiny needles were left in my 'craving points'. As well as giving up cream buns, I haven't wanted a drop of alcohol or smoked a cigarette since 8th August and the weight is slowly dropping off me. I wanted to lose 2 stone when I first decided it was a problem in March and I'm halfway there.
So thanks very much Paul.'

The 'craving points', described in the above testimonial, are particular points on the ear in which the Acupuncturist will insert an ear seed. This tiny needle helps to significantly reduce the patient's cravings.
A study published in the Journal of Medical Acupuncture in 2003 found that the use of auricular Acupuncture (outlined above) on one group as opposed to a control group, resulted in the 'Acupuncture' group losing three times more weight.
There may be many reasons, however, for weight gain and as an qualified Acupuncturist, Paul will examine the patient's history to devise the most suitable treatment plan. For example, certain needle placements are believed to lower insulin levels or lipid levels in the blood. Stress may also be a contributory factor, along with treating the endocrine system for water retention, thyroid problems, sugar and hormonal inbalances.
