Regulation of herbal medicine and acupuncture

What’s the point?

Have you ever considered Acupuncture?

The Mitchell Clinic, Truro is opening its doors this month and looking to take on new patients.

PAUL ADKINS has been training at The College of Traditional Acupuncture in Warwickshire for the past three years.  He has had an interest in the Chinese way of life for many years, including medicine and martial arts, of which he has a 1st Dan in karate.  He is keen to bring this interest and the benefits of this type of tradition to his patients in Truro.

TRADITIONAL ACUPUNCTURE enables the body/mind/spirit to heal itself, as far as nature will allow.  In Chinese medicine any illness or symptom, either physical, mental or of the spirit, is associated with an imbalance of the person’s vital life energy, or Qi.  When the body sends out distress signals in the form of any symptom it is a sign that there is an imbalance of Qi, which must be rebalanced to restore health.  This principle of traditional acupuncture is         important because it means the underlying cause of the disease is being dealt with rather than the symptom merely being swept  under the carpet, only to reappear in the future.  As well as dealing with the patient’s condition by restoring the overall balance of energy, traditional acupuncture may help the person feel better in a general way, promoting an improved quality of life.

Traditional acupuncture affects the whole person - body, mind and spirit - and may therefore help a very wide range of issues ranging from depression, stress, lack of sleep, back ache, sciatica, arthritis and conditions of the joints, skin disorders, sports injuries, menstrual and menopausal conditions, also food intolerances and allergies as well as brining great relief from pain in general.

As well as seeking help for physical problems, many people consider Traditional Acupuncture for some stress-related disorders and the effects of mental and emotional conflict in their lives.

The Six Months to Well Being Treatment Plan

Acupuncture is not necessarily a form of treatment most people would turn to when feeling unwell.  This  form of Chinese Medicine concentrates on getting the whole body in balance and hence preventing many illnesses or conditions taking hold in the first place.

Some of the conditions that I have helped with are

bullet Anxiety and depression
bullet Compulsive disorders
bullet Sleep problems
bullet Lack of energy
bullet Irritable bowel and digestive issues
bullet Skin conditions
bullet Infertility
bullet Confidence and self esteem
bullet Childhood abuse

A simple analogy of Acupuncture could be to liken it to a car.  You know what its like when you avoid servicing the car or having the oil changed.  Eventually you know it will give up on you and go wrong.  How  many of us carry on driving when the red warning light says we are nearly out of fuel? - we are just asking for trouble.

The body is very similar in some respects - we ignore all the warning signs and carry on until our warning lights stop flashing – the engine then packs up all together and in some cases its too late or is a costly exercise to correct.

5 Element Acupuncture is the equivalent to that regular service and top up.

The treatment works with your body’s meridians, helping to keep things in balance.  It will help stave off illness and will make you feel so much better about yourself.

Sounds Great doesn’t it?

I have seen the power of 5 Element Acupuncture up close and it still amazes me the difference it can make to a person’s life.

I can hear you saying it now  Sounds great but I bet it will cost a fortune !

That is generally the problem, many complimentary therapies are great but just too expensive to continue on a regular basis.

This is where my offer to you comes in.

As well as practicing 5 Element Acupuncture, I am also a published author, my current project is a book charting the results of 5 Element Acupuncture treatment over a 6 month period.

For this to be a success I need your help. I am looking for patients who are prepared to embark on a course of treatment over a 6 month period and who will also allow me to use their case history in a book -  obviously all names and details relating to a patients’ identity will be changed and the reference to any particular individual - trust and confidentiality is an integral part of 5 Element Treatment and something I take very seriously.

My commitment to anyone interested in helping me with this project will be a dedicated treatment plan appropriate to that patient at a fraction of the cost 5 Element Acupuncture treatments would normally cost.

The Treatment on offer

My Commitment to you

The initial consultation of approx 1 hour where full medical history is taken and a treatment plan is prepared.

2 treatments a month for the first 2 months of the plan

Followed by a monthly treatment for four months

That is a total of nine appointments over a period of 6 months for which you would be charged a total of £150, that’s just over £16 per session which represents a fraction of the cost you would normally expect to pay for treatment.

Appointments will mainly be evenings and weekends.

Your Commitment to me

Commit to the treatment plan for the 6 months

Allow me to use details (Confidentially) in a publication

Agree to regular payments of £25 per month for 6 months, that equates to only £16 per treatment!!.

Places on this treatment programme will be limited and purely assigned on a first come first served basis,  if you would like any further details or would like to register your interest.

Please ask if places are still available.

I can be contacted at 01872 274774 or via e-mail pointlocation@aol.com

Best Wishes and Thanks
