Five Elements and the Officials

Classical Five-Element Acupuncture: The Five Elements and the Officials

by J.R. Worsley

This book has been a fantastic purchase, I suppose it’s bound to be a good book because it’s the subject I spent three years studying, written by the man himself!

Aside from my bias, I found it to be a very readable book in a language that is really easy to understand. Once I’d started to read the book I didn’t want to put it down, it had me totally gripped. I particularly liked the chapters on the Officials, I found these descriptions very easy to grasp and also really simple to visualize.

Throughout his writing I felt that J.R. Worsley was actually talking to me and that we were face-to-face with each other on a one-to-one level, this may be due to lot of things including the fact that I’m so enthusiastic about acupuncture or just the fact that the author is so passionate about the subject he’s writing about.

This has been a book that I go back to time and time again and it’s become very dog-eared after many years of use. It’s not very easy to come by, hence the astronomical prices you often find, but it’s a gem that I’d recommend to anyone interested in acupuncture and it’s a must-read for anybody who’s studying.
