Heart 1 Ji Quan “Utmost Source”
Ht 1 is the entry point and the first point on the heart meridian. It’s where the journey of the heart begins the exchanges of Heaven and Earth and how spirit that resides in the heart guides the individual through life.
The heart is the supreme controller, the sovereign official with mastery over Zang and Fu, and the word “utmost” in the name of this point indicates the veneration in which the heart is held.
At Ht 1 the Qi emerges from the heart on its journey through the lung to continue towards the extremity of the hand. Scholars discuss how this communication takes place from the hidden residence of our Shen to the outside.
The essence of the heart is to nourish and support us to live our life consciously and it’s said, the heart carries the responsibility of communication – the impulse of heaven – to the ten thousand beings. Which is why it’s so important for the Shen to be in a place of security and stillness.
