Acupuncture Point Series – Stomach Meridian: St 9

St 9 People Welcome (Ren Ying)

St 9 is a “Window of the Sky” acupuncture point. If our focus is inward and closed off from what others can give, we may not be able to receive and welcome the experiences of life. This can leave us feeling unloved, suspicious and paranoid. St 9 allows in new experiences and ideas, rather than staying with the self-absorption that Earth can fall into.

The Chinese have a saying that: just as we are a part of nature, that nature is a part of us. This point is a “Sea of Qi”, which provides a boost of vitality to the system. “Ren Ying” is a chimney to the sky, giving the possibility to feel the great universal connection to the Tao, to open our vision, and receive a great welcome.

The character of “Ren” is the image of the two legs of a man, meaning mankind; one who stands upright.  Whereas “Ying” is the image of walking and dignity on which all desires of men turn. St 9 strengthens our hearts to open that window to the compassion and sharing with others – enriching our life.

St 9 can help us to let go of the hurt and mistrust and to receive our humanity, where we touch our inner vision and can see Spirit in all things.
